“Jump In The Lake” Fundraising Event Benefits Collins Children’s Home and HBA

Since the 1960’s, the Home Builders Association of Oconee has been our local “voice in the housing industry.” The HBA is a nonprofit association with more than 150 members. On Feb. 27 local builders took part in our first “Jump In The Lake” event. The event was conceived as a way to raise funds, while giving the local community a chance to have a great time. Builders reach out to their customers, asking for donations that would benefit bot the HBA and Collins Children’s Home, a Seneca-based nonprofit organization. In exchange, the HBA members jumped into chilly Lake Keowee, much to the amusement of the spectators. One association member summarized the HBA’s commitment to the local community saying, “We are always happy to give back.” We wish to congratulate and sincerely thank our brave jumpers, Brad LeCroy, HBA president; Jim Diffenderfer, HBA second vice president; David Gully, HBA Builder director; and Brad Kisker, HBA Builder director. We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of the generous donors who made this event a success. Here’s to the second annual “Jump In The Lake.” We hope to see you there!
